Who delivers your assessment

Your AuDHD Assessment is delivered personally by both co-founders, Dr. Anita Parhar (PhD) and Dr. Gurdeep Parhar (MD), rather than handed to a single assessor. Every report is reviewed by one of our in-house Registered Clinical Counsellors or Psychotherapists. Most listed clinics deliver assessments by a single psychologist, NP, or counsellor; our integrated MD + PhD + counsellor model is a genuine point of difference.

Dr. Gurdeep Parhar

Dr. Gurdeep Parhar

MD · CCFP · CCBOM · CIME · Clinical Professor of Medicine

Co-Founder

Graduating medical school as the youngest doctor in Canada that year, Gurdeep understands a life lived differently. For over 30 years his medical practice has focused on people with different abilities — including traumatic brain injury, ADHD, and autism.

He is certified in Occupational Medicine and Disability Medicine, and is a Clinical Professor at the UBC Faculty of Medicine, where he has served as Acting Dean, Executive Associate Dean, Associate Dean, and Co-Acting Department Head.

Gurdeep co-founded the Adult ADHD Centre (adultadhdcentre.com), which has provided affordable ADHD assessments to over 40,000 adults across every region of Canada. He has completed extensive training in autism — including the ADOS-2 and ADI-R, the two gold standards for autism assessment.

Dr. Anita Parhar

Dr. Anita Parhar

BEd · MEd · PhD

Co-Founder, Educational Director and Researcher

Anita began her career as an elementary school teacher, then became a UBC Faculty of Education University Instructor training future teachers. There she recognized the urgent need for greater awareness of autism and ADHD — and for accessible, neuroaffirming assessments.

She co-founded the Adult ADHD Centre and later founded the ADHD Centre for Women (adhdcentreforwomen.com) to address the unique needs of women. She has served as an Honorary Lecturer in the UBC Faculty of Medicine, with teaching and research focused on health equity and social justice for underserved communities.

Anita has completed extensive training in autism — including the ADOS-2, ADI-R, and ACIA. Her research explores how the practices of schools, healthcare systems, families and communities are influenced by stereotypes, colonialism, racism and ableism.

Registered Clinical Counsellors & Psychotherapists

In-house clinical counselling team · report review

Every AuDHD report is reviewed by one of our in-house Registered Clinical Counsellors or Psychotherapists. They contribute counselling and functional input on the conflicts most relevant to your treatment, and their involvement makes the assessment reimbursable under extended-health benefits that cover Registered Clinical Counsellor or Psychotherapist services.

From the co-founders
“We built the AuDHD Centre because late-identified adults kept arriving with half a diagnosis. ADHD without the autism. Autism without the ADHD. Neither story explained the whole life. It all starts with a conversation, and the conversation has to be about both.”

The AuDHD Centre sits within an established practice

Almost no other Canadian provider operates both an ADHD clinic and an autism clinic under shared clinical leadership. We do, which is exactly why an integrated AuDHD pathway is a natural extension, not a new venture.

Our logo and promise

A conversation and a way forward.

The AuDHD Centre mark combines a speech bubble, representing the patient’s voice and the conversation that begins the pathway, with an action arrow representing forward movement.

That meaning is reflected in our shared promise: It all starts with a conversation. We help you to move forward.
