AuDHD describes the lived experience of being both autistic and ADHD at the same time. It is a community-created identity term rather than a separate DSM-5 diagnosis. Read the full explainer.

Your assessment is delivered personally by Dr. Anita Parhar (PhD) and Dr. Gurdeep Parhar (MD), with report review and clinical input from an in-house Registered Clinical Counsellor or Psychotherapist.

The integrated assessment is approximately 1.5 hours. Before the appointment, a private Adult Autism Tool (AuDHD edition) is emailed for you to complete in your own time. The complimentary 30-minute AuDHD discussion happens before the assessment pathway is confirmed.

Where you meet criteria, the report provides DSM-5-aligned diagnoses of ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or both. It also explains how the two profiles interact in your specific case.

The assessment conclusion reflects the clinical evidence. If you meet criteria for one condition but not the other, your report will explain the findings clearly and recommend the most appropriate next steps. The Complimentary AuDHD Discussion also helps determine whether an integrated or single-condition pathway is the better starting point.

Two separate assessments may describe ADHD and autism independently. The integrated pathway also explains where traits reinforce, conflict with, or mask one another, so treatment and accommodation recommendations reflect the full profile.

The assessment requires the expertise of several different mental health professionals who are not covered by public provincial or territorial health plans.

If your private extended health insurance plan covers Registered Clinical Counsellors, Social Workers, or Psychotherapists, part or all of the assessment cost may be reimbursed.

As every private insurance plan is different, we recommend contacting your plan and obtaining details about your coverage. Once you know these details, email affirm@audhdcentre.com with any questions.

The Complimentary AuDHD Discussion is a free, 30-minute video conversation with a member of our clinical team. There is no public online questionnaire, commitment, or payment required for this first discussion. Structured assessment tools are used later and completed privately as part of the clinical process.

The Compassion Program offers the same assessment at a reduced fee of $1,700 for patients experiencing financial difficulty. Raise the cost barrier during your complimentary discussion so the team can discuss eligibility with you.

Recommendations are individualized and discussed with you directly. While follow-up is encouraged with your own primary care practitioner, therapist, or coach, we will provide guidance on how to get started.
